The story:

I was a knitter long before I was a sewist, so it is probably natural to look at a collection of deadstock fabric and, in the midst of daydreaming about what can be sewn with it, begin pairing fabric with yarns. That hand sewn jacket could be elevated by the pop of knit color at the neck. The structured collar of a linen shirt could be perfectly displayed against the texture of the knit vest. Armwarmers could be tucked into the sleeves of an overshirt. It was with these images in mind that I approached Andrea at Fadenwohl with an idea; would she be interested in creating a capsule collection that paired fabrics with yarns, and then offered a bit of pattern inspiration with ideas for every skill level. Andrea has an amazing sense of color, and she dove straight into the project, adding her own mental image to the bundle; leg warmers under a relaxed dress or over cozy pajamas. And so our collaboration, and our collection, was born.

Yarns and fabrics are made entirely of natural fibers.

Ordering and Delivery

If you are ordering online for delivery, all items will be packaged and shipped together as normal.

If you are shopping locally please know that the yarn is located at Fadenwohl, and the fabric and pdf-Pattern Printing is at SELU. You are welcome to order your pdf-Pattern Printing, fabric and notions via this website and request that they be delivered free of charge to Fadenwohl for pickup (thus giving you a chance to explore Andrea’s amazing collection of buttons, sewing notions, yarns and more). If you choose this option, you will receive an email to let you know when they are ready for pick up at Fadenwohl (usually next day, with allowances for weekends and school holidays, and the fact that by „delivery“ in this case I mean myself biking over to Fadenwohl with packages).

The Fabrics

The Yarns

The Buttons

A small collection of classic shirt and jacket buttons made from genuine, natural, horn and mother of purl. For a much much wider selection of buttons, make sure to head over to Fadenwohl to browse Andrea’s button collection in person.

And a bit of Pattern Inspiration here.

The links will take you to sewing patterns on ThreadLoop (a great social media site for sewists – there is a paid tier, but the free tier is also quite good) and to knitting patterns on Ravelry (a great social media site for knitters, free tier only, but they do allow fiber art related ads).

Wishing you all the fun and success with sewing and knitting this fall. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me (Sarah) at musterdruck@selu-online.com, and don’t forget to have your pdf-sewing pattern printed here.

Best wishes,

Sarah and Andrea
